Bruxelles - Expo '58

This volume in the “Lignes vicinales” collection takes us back to Brussels at the time of the 1958 World’s Fair. From the preparatory works to the special services for visitors, it explores the role of the vicinal trams in this event. More than 100 photographs, postcards and plans illustrate this journey, from construction work at the Heysel to the tram services organised for the Expo. The captioned documents reveal the tramcars, the infrastructure and the atmosphere of journeys to the exhibition. An invitation to discover Expo 58 from a transport perspective, bringing together history, period images and memories for tram enthusiasts and anyone interested in Brussels’ past.
